As 2025 comes to a close two new souvenirs will be available, Closing 2025 and Unboxing 2026. Earn Closing 2025 by finding any geocache, attending any Event, or completing an Adventure Lab® Location between December 24th to 31st, 2025. Earn Unboxing 2026 by finding any geocache, attending any Event, or completing an Adventure Lab® Location from January 1st to 8th, 2026.
Locationless Cache, Last Chance to Log
GCA2025Where’s 25? – Locationless Cache by Geocaching HQ D1/T1.5
As part of Geocachings 25th anniversary celebrations HQ released this Locationless cache. The cache is available until 31st December 2025, claim by posting a picture of a ’25’ found somewhere in the real world. Here are the logging requirements:
Include one (1) photo of yourself or a personal item next to an already-existing 25. Ideally, the 25 should be something that others may visit if they know the location coordinates.
The 25 can stand on its own or not. It can be a numeral or spelled out. It can be in any language or ancient numbering systems. Get creative!
In the spirit of the original Locationless Caches, you are encouraged to include the coordinates where you found the 25 in your online log.
Logs that do not include a photo will be deleted. The cache page will be archived and locked on January 1st, 2026

GIFF Results
The votes have been counted, and we are excited to present this year’s film festival awards: the Signal Award (chosen by community volunteers) and the People’s Choice Award (voted for by geocachers). This year, an interesting phenomenon occurred, volunteers and geocachers chose the same winner.
This clever Swiss made film took a unique look at the workings of a gadget cache, but only came 2nd in the vote held at our GIFF event. If you missed the films or would like to watch them again: find them here: GIFF 2025 finalist films.
There were 61 filmmakers from 21 countries who submitted a film for consideration this year.
20 films from 10 countries were selected as finalists.
The final films were viewed at 634 Events across 92 countries, territories, and regions.
Just under 10,000 geocachers voted for the People’s Choice Award
The Geocaching International Film Festival will return in 2027.
December Souvenir
The December Solstice Souvenir is available from Friday 19th to Monday 22nd December, to earn find and log any geocache, Event, or Adventure Lab® Location.

This year was no exception, an evening full of fun and laughter. Big Thank You’s to Mike & Gail for the quiz and prizes, Gra for the lovely dragon magnets, the Secret Santa and of course the staff of The Goat for the lovely food and looking after us.
GCBERY89 Usual Suspects: Escape Room. by 9 Usual Suspects Bess’s Friends, Julie, assisted by Ray crafted a fantastic geocache event in the form of an escape room set in a pub. It was a radical shift from our normal events and required teams to solve a series of cleverly designed clues to ‘break out’ of the pub before closing time. The pressure was on as our local PanIQ escape room owner and their partner attended joining one of the teams. Solving the clues required a combination of teamwork, observation, deduction and lateral thinking only when these were combined, escape was possible. A great afternoon which everyone enjoyed and appreciated the work involved by Julie & Ray to make this event possible. We are hoping that there will be a repeat event…

Treasures were a digital feature introduced in March 2025 as part of Geocachings 25th birthday celebrations. Geocachers can collect these digital items by finding and logging caches that meet a specific criteria set by HQ, different for each Treasure Collection. The amount of Treasures in a Collection also varies. A souvenir is available for the completion of special Collections.
How do I collect Treasure? You can collect Treasure by finding and logging caches that meet specific criteria set by HQ. The Geocaching Origins Collection has to be completed before unlocking all current available Treasure Collections. Below are the criteria for the first collection: Collection 1: Geocaching origins You can collect these Treasures by finding and logging Traditional Caches.
Are Treasure available for All members? Treasure is available to both Premium and Basic members, though some collections are Premium member only. Premium members can use Advanced search to find caches that fit collection criteria.
How do I choose which collection I want to collect Treasures from? On the Treasures page, there are spaces for the collections you want to collect Treasure from. Premium members have spaces for five Active collections, and Basic members have a space for one Active collection. For Premium members, the top space has first priority, the second has second priority, and the third has third priority etc
To choose your collections:
Go to the “Collections” section near the bottom of the page.
Drag a collection card to any space in the “Active collections” section near the top of the page.
Or, select “Activate” on a collection card, then choose a space to move it to.
All collections are active by default for Premium members. When you log a cache that qualifies for more than one collection you will collect Treasure from the highest-ranked priority collection. If a cache doesn’t match any of your priority collections, but does qualify for another collection that’s not in your priority collections, you’ll collect that Treasure. If you don’t set any priority collections, you’ll continue to collect Treasure from any collection that matches your finds.
Viewing Treasure on cache pages on Geocaching.com Premium members can see which collections a cache qualifies for directly on the cache page on Geocaching.com. This makes it easier to plan your next caching adventure. To see what collections a cache qualifies for directly from a cache page, go to a cache page on Geocaching.com and click on “View Treasures” in the list menu on the right hand of the page below the “Log geocache” button. A window will appear that shows which collections the geocache qualifies for.
How do I turn off the notification when I collect Treasure? To turn off the notification, toggle the setting next to “Notify me when I find Treasure in the Geocaching® mobile app” on the Treasures page. Players who turn off notifications will still collect Treasure.

Cat figurines collection consists of 9 Treasures. Collect these Treasures by finding and logging Traditional Caches, Mystery Caches, or Multi-Caches with a difficulty rating from 1-3. Geomobiles collection consists of5 Treasures. Collect these Treasures by finding and logging caches with the Park and grab attribute.
Geocaching Origins
The Geocaching Origins collection consists of 4 Treasures. This collection has to be completed to unlock current available collections. To collect find and log: Any Traditional geocache of any size.
Celebrating 25 years
The Celebrating 25 Years collection consists of 5 Treasures. To collect find and log: Any non-Event geocache type except Adventure Lab®, any size, difficulty rating of 1.5 or lower OR any Event Cache. By completing this Collection you will earn a souvenir.
Egg hunt
The Egg Hunt collection consists of 7 Treasures with different criteria for each treasure. To collect find and log: An Earthcache, attend a regular Event, a Letterbox Hybrid any size with difficulty rating of 2.0 or higher, a Multi cache any size with difficulty rating of 2.0 or higher, a Mystery any sizedifficulty rating of 2.0 or higher, a Traditional any size difficulty rating of 2.0 or higher, any Virtual cache. By completing this collection you will earn a souvenir.
Navigational Tools
The Navigational Tools collection consists of 5 Treasures. To collect find and log: A Traditional any size difficulty rating of 2.0 or higher and a terrain rating of 1.5 or lower.
Classic Trackables
The Classic Trackables collection consists of 5 Treasures. To collect find and log: A Traditional any size OR Any Event Cache
Mystery Books
The Mystery Books collection consists of 5 Treasures. To collect find and log: A Multi-Cache, Virtual, Letterbox Hybrid, Mystery, Earthcache, or Wherigo, any size with a difficulty rating of 2.00 or higher
Event Mementos
The Event Mementos collection consists of 5 Treasures. To collect find and log: A Traditional, Multi-Cache, Letterbox Hybrid, Mystery, or Wherigo, size Micro, Other, or Small with a minimum of 3 Favourite points OR any Event Cache

The Planets collection consists of 8 Treasures. To collect find and log: A Traditional, Multi-Cache, Letterbox Hybrid, Mystery, or Wherigo, size Regular or Large, with a difficulty rating of 2.0 or higher.

The weather was not on our side, we battled with the strong winds and rain managing to set up most of our scary props. Those that didn’t appear this year will hopefully make an appearance next year!. International EarthCache Day
Earn the International EarthCache Day 2025 souvenir by visiting any EarthCache and completing the logging requirements from October 10 through October 12, 2025. Since 2004, EarthCaches have encouraged geocachers to explore and celebrate our planet’s extraordinary geological features. All non-Premium EarthCaches are open to everyone throughout the weekend on the Geocaching® app from 12:00:00 UTC on Friday 10th October, until 12:00:00 UTC on Monday 13th October, 2025.
Treasures
Recently 4 new Treasure collections have been released, GIFF Gnomes, Celebrating GIFF, Fossils and River Expedition Puzzle. Collections now have to be activated to collect treasures, with only 3 collections active at any one time. Some juggling of active collections may be needed to ensure maximum treasures are collected. Here are the requirements for each new collection: GIFF Gnomes: Find 5 Mystery caches of Any Size with the Available 24/7 attribute. Celebrating GIFF: Attend 8 Events all types count. Fossils: Discover 6 Earthcaches, all D/T’s count.
River Expedition Puzzle: This new Treasure collection is only available for Premium members, and it’s a little different from previous collections as each treasure is piece of a jigsaw. Complete the collection to complete the puzzle and earn a souvenir. The puzzle has 16 pieces, and each piece has unique criteria based on difficulty and terrain ratings.
East Anglia UK Mega 2026

Are you planning on camping at the UK Mega next year? If so are you aware that there is a 10% discount for Early Bird booking available until the 31st October. Camping is available from Tuesday 4th to Monday 10th August and can be booked on this website. Full size 10m x 12m pitches at £30 per night. Small tent pitch 5m x 6m at £22 per night. £50 per week for optional EHU. Book from 2 to 6 nights. (Minimum booking is 2 nights.)
The pitches are all on a large grass field. The site has permanent toilet and shower blocks, electricity is generated by solar panels on the roof of the exhibition hall.

Every September, Cadw “Opens its Doors”. A selection of Cadw and other historical sites open their doors free of charge, some sites are not normally open to the general public, others may offer free guided tours and experiences. Here are a couple of our favourite places that are open this weekend:
Barclodiad-y-Gawres Open Sunday 28th September
Barclodiad-y-Gawres is a partially reconstructed Neolithic burial chamber, famous for its decorated stones. The spectacular, cliff side position of this later Neolithic monument is one of its great attractions and accessing it provides a short pleasant walk. Barclodiad-y-Gawres means ‘The Giantess’s Apronful’ and is a traditional local name. This is a chance to investigate this unique and important passage tomb which is not generally open to the public. Free Tours will be at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Meet at the monument. No booking required.
Harlech Castle Open Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th September
Join guide, Siân Roberts, and discover the stories behind the stones of this spectacular structure in its stunning setting. We can highly recommend this tour, we held an event here last year followed by Siân’s excellent tour. Free Tours will be at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. No booking required.

Events GCBC9ECMoley’s Meet up by Moley13 Event D1/T1.5 When: Saturday 27th September Where: Llangollen Pavillion Time: 6pm to 7pm Moley is going to be in Llangollen for Hidden Earth – UK’s National Caving Conference and is keen to meet up with other geocaching cavers as well as any other geocachers who happen to be in the area. The meeting spot is a group of picnic tables at the side of Llangollen Pavilion.

Wrap up warm, as, weather permitting, we plan to have some outside activities including a pumpkin lantern competition. There will be prizes for adults and children, to enter bring your carved pumpkin on the night. Of course there will be a BBQ and the bar will be open to late.

Venue closes: 5.00pm We invite you to join us for Geocachings International Film Festival 2025. More details of films etc will be announced nearer the date. As this venue is not cheap to hire we will be fund raising and looking for volunteers to help with setting up, manning our geocaching shop and very importantly running the kitchen.

Highlights from “Where’s 25? – Locationless Cache” “We’re more than halfway through 2025, which means that time is running shorter for you to log GCA2025 Where’s 25? – Locationless Cache! This special cache is active only through December 31, 2025 in commemoration of geocaching’s milestone anniversary. The geocaching community has found “25” all over since the Locationless Cache was published in January. More than 26,000 geocachers have logged a find, and shared more than 32,000 photos of “25” sightings worldwide.” Here are just a few of the fun examples:

Upcoming Souvenirs
September Equinox Souvenir
Geocaching HQ has a new September equinox souvenir available from 19th-22nd September 2025. To earn the souvenir find one geocache, attend an Event, or complete an Adventure Lab® Location. This year the changing seasons will be celebrated with souvenir artwork inspired by the Sandhill Crane. Why Cranes? Because they represent migratory patterns and seasonal change.
Adventure Day Souvenir
To earn the Adventure Lab® Adventure Day souvenir, complete five Adventure Lab Locations, these do not have to be in the same Adventure, between Friday 17th October to Sunday 19th October 2025.
