Over the next week we have lots happening in the world of geocaching, new caches, events, souvenirs and a new Treasure collection. Lets start with new caches:

Becky and Ralph, from WMM 2027 committee, are on tour in our area and would like to meet local and not so local geocachers to discuss our fascinating hobby.

When: Friday 2nd October, 2026
Where: The Rise, Station Road, Betws-y-coed
Time: 4pm – 4.40pm
Beano and Dandy would like to meet local and not so local geocachers to discuss our fascinating hobby over a cuppa and cake.

When: Friday 30th October
Where: Plas Gwernoer, Nantlle LL54 6BB
Party Starts: 5pm
Party Ends: 8pm or when the last person leaves
Attire:  Optional Halloween Fancy dress
The newly refurbished bar will be open and hot food will be served, the menu still has to be confirmed. All refreshments are free, to aid us with planning and catering for the evening please could you log ‘will attends’ in advance and include number of persons that will be attending.
For the very hardy we have very basic camping available and space for the odd caravan/motorhome, please message us for details.

Join Bess’s Friends for a catch up followed by a walk to Treaddur Bay. There will be 9 new caches along the route.

A perfect day for a litter pick, dry and not too hot. Most of the area was not too bad but around the bridge there was far more McDonalds take away containers than there has been for along time and the household waste fly tipping seems to be on the increase again. Thank you everyone for attending and your hard work.

September Equinox Souvenir

To earn the September Equinox souvenir log any geocache, Event, or Adventure Lab® Location during the souvenir period between September 19th–22nd, 2026.

New Treasure Collection

Pirate Treasure

September 22nd sees the release of the next Treasure Collection, Pirate Treasure. To collect these swashbuckling Treasures, geocachers must find and log Mystery Caches or Multi-Caches with a difficulty rating of 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, or 4.

Christmas Dinner Event 2026

Due to The Goat being already fully booked for the last weekend in November this years Christmas Dinner event will be Saturday 5th December. The event will be published shortly. A pre-view of the menu can be found below:

Basically a meet on a hill to eat cake, admire the view and geochat with friends old and new.

GCBJKYP PG’n’Me a week in Llangadfan by Plumguy Event D1/T1
When: Monday 30th March, 2026
Where: Cann Office Hotel, Llangadfan, Welshpool, Powys SY21 0PL
Time: 5pm – 7pm
Mol’n’Me & Plumbguy are here for a week and would like to meet other friendly cachers from the area, get some ideas and hints on places to explore nearby. 

Event Reminder

GCBJ36N CITO, A487 North, Another Quick Pick by 9 Usual Suspects CITO D1/T4.5
When: Thursday 19th February, 2026
Where: Lay-by A487 (Traveling North)
Time: 11am – 12pm
A quick tidy up of the lay-by on the ‘new’ Caernarfon by-pass. This area is in desperate need of litter pick, why can’t people take their litter home with them? Please note there is a very steep bank and lots of brambles involved in this litter pick. Parking will be tight with limited parking is at the published coordinates.
Gwynedd Council Tidy Towns Scheme will be supplying litter pickers, hi-vis vests, bags and but please bring your own gloves. 

Piratemania Future Dates Announcement

Piratemania Team have made the following important announcement:

“SAVE THE DAYS
Piratemania mega day 2027 July 24th venue to be announced later 
Piratemania mega day 2028 which is PM’s 20th Birthday will be July 29th 2028 
Camping dates and venue will be finalised and published here in due course 
As 2028 is our birthday year we want to make it special so keep a look out for some special announcements”

New Treasure Collections

Two new Treasure collections have been released this week:

Fast Food Erasers

The Fast Food Erasers collection consists of 4 Treasures. To collect find and log:
Any non-Event geocache type except Adventure Lab®, any size, minimum 1 Favourite points and a difficulty rating between 2.0 and 2.5.

Toy Dinosaurs

The Toy Dinosaurs collection consists of 5 Treasures. To collect find and log:
Any Multi-Cache, Mystery, or Earthcache of any size.

March Equinox Souvenir

In 2026, the spring (vernal) equinox in the Northern Hemisphere occurs on March 20th, marking the astronomical start of spring. It is the moment when the Sun crosses the celestial equator, resulting in nearly equal day and night, signalling the return of warmth, longer daylight hours, and the start of spring growth.

To earn the souvenir find and log any geocache, Event, or Adventure Lab® Location from Tursday 19th to Sunday 22nd March.
